The Tragedy Of Success And Failure
The Tragedy Of Success And FailureGail Myers tutoring is a tutoring agency in Los Angeles, California. Gail's mission is to help children of all ages, ages three through to eleven. In her words, she has helped thousands of children from Los Angeles to New York and from London to Hong Kong.Ms. Myers is the founder of Gail Myers tutoring in Arizona, but she began tutoring six years ago in the Chicagoland area. She says that she could not teach without experiencing first hand the dynamics of a classroom and a learning environment. This experience led her to start tutoring in Arizona. What makes the lessons effective? Most students learn better when their classmates are around them, to tell the truth. The liveliness of their classes encourages students to listen more than to do what they're told. When you bring in a student in another class for example, try it yourself to see if you can take what he or she says with a grain of salt. Ask them what they want to accomplish in the class. It's easy to use yourself in a lesson as a model for the class. What I like about her tutoring is that the lessons are so individualized. Children will come to class ready to learn, and there are no assignments, no tests, and no requirements. This model is more conducive to a child's natural ability to work at their own pace and to reach goals with their own time and attention.Tutoring can be intimidating to the child, but this is a good thing. They need to be taught to go to the areas of weakness and discover their own strengths. It takes some courage, but with the right attitude kids will be able to handle themselves better and become more confident. How did it work in Arizona? The tutors in Arizona began by simply guiding students through the most common classroom activities. When kids did not have what was expected of them, the instructors intervened and had the students find their own answers. After some time, the kids were ready to learn and, as a result, students who had previously been reluctant to take on the role of a teacher became enthusiastic teachers.

Easy Guitar Tabs for Beginners
Easy Guitar Tabs for Beginners Sign up successful Guitar tabs show you which note needs to be played on which string by placing a fret number on the corresponding line, but they do not tell you which finger to use or the timing of the piece. Read guitar tabs from left to right and use your ear to determine the timing of each note. If youre struggling with a tab, its always a good idea to listen to a recording of the song, or work with a guitar teacher for some extra help. 3 Easy Guitar Tabs for Beginners Before playing the songs and riffs below, make sure your guitar is in tune. You can easily tune your guitar with an app on your smart phone. Heres a guitar tuning tutorial that shows you how. Now, onto the beginner guitar tabs Twinkle Twinkle Little Star You can play a wide range of notes without sliding all over the neck of your guitar in the song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. For this tab, keep your left hand in what is known as first position. Your index finger will play all notes on the first fret, your middle finger plays all notes on the second fret, your ring finger plays the third fret, and your pinkie plays the fourth fret. Keeping your left hand still and using this fingering will help you build better speed and coordination as you learn how to play the guitar. Three Blind Mice You can also play Three Blind Mice in the same position noted above. Here is the tab for this catchy nursery rhyme. Happy Birthday Knowing how to play Happy Birthday on the guitar always comes in handy! Try out this familiar tune using the tab below. As you can see, Happy Birthday is a melody that can be played on just one string and is composed of four short phrases. The tricky part of this guitar tab is deciding on the right fingering. We recommend starting with your index finger on the second fret, your pinkie on the fifth fret, and your ring finger on the fourth fret. You can play the first phrase with your left hand in this position. To play the note on the seventh fret in the second phrase, you will need to slide your pinkie up to reach. You can then play the fifth fret with your middle finger. In the third phrase, you will have to slide your pinkie up again to reach the ninth fret, and then slide back down to play the fourth fret with your ring finger and the second fret with your index finger. For the final phrase, use your pinkie to play the tenth fret and your ring finger to play the ninth fret. Then, slide your hand down to play the fifth fret with your index finger and the seventh fret with your ring finger. Following this guide to the fingering of this piece enables you to hit all the notes while making minimal movements with your hand up and down the neck of the guitar. Easy Guitar Tabs for 3 Riffs A guitar riff is a short, catchy series of notes that is usually repeated a few times within a song. Riffs are typically simple to play and easily recognizable. Rock and pop music are full of great riffs that you can learn to play quickly. Here are a few examples with easy guitar tabs! Smoke on the Water This popular guitar riff comes from Deep Purples classic song Smoke on the Water. Youll notice that you need to play two notes on the same fret at the same time in order to play this riff. One easy way to accomplish this is to lay your index finger across multiple strings in a partial barre chord and only strum the G and D strings. Hold the partial barre shape with your left hand and move your hand from the third fret to the fifth and sixth frets as needed. Sunshine of Your Love This riff from Creams Sunshine of Your Love is also quick and easy to learn. To use the proper fingering on this riff, start with your ring finger on the twelfth fret and your index finger on the tenth. Now, this is a little bit tricky. When you play the first 10th fret note on your E string, slide your hand slightly up the neck to play the 10th fret with your ring finger. Now you can easily reach the 8th fret note that is coming up next. Youll notice that this riff calls for a bent string, as indicated by the b on the eighth fret of the A string. To bend this note, push the string up the neck of the guitar as you play. Bending a note creates a distinctive, bluesy tone. Satisfaction Guitar Riff Tabs One of the most-loved riffs in rock and roll comes from the Rolling Stones Satisfaction. Check out the tab below: You can play this awesome guitar riff all on one string! To practice the correct fingering and play with better speed, use your index finger to play the second fret, your ring finger on the fourth fret, and your pinkie on the fifth fret. 4 Tips for B-School Group Projects
4 Tips for B-School Group Projects In business school, group projects are a way of life. Most of your core classes and many of your electives will involve assignments where you must work in teams to get the job done. With so many ambitious, driven personalities in one environment, how can you work together cohesively? How can you make the experience less antagonistic and more enjoyable? Tips for tackling business school group projects include identifying the strengths in your group, deciding on the projects goal, and devising a plan. When taking on b-school group projects, dont panic. Here are four tips to memorize now: 1. Discuss the project with your b-school group members Even though your professor may have discussed the project in class, and even though the project may be clearly outlined in your syllabus, each of your group members may have a different interpretation of what the project entails. Listen to each persons perspective on the project, as well as the ideas he or she has for executing it. Dont be afraid to share your own ideas too. You may not necessarily wish to lead the project, but steering the direction of the conversation in a productive manner will help to generate a positive experience. [RELATED: 4 Questions to Ask Your First MBA Professor] 2. Identify the strengths of your b-school group Next, figure out who is good at what tasks. Then determine what each person actually wishes to do. Its important to note that these might not be the same things. For instance, your group member with a financial consulting background may have a talent for creating spreadsheets. However, she may be attending business school to transition into a career in marketing, and would thus prefer to construct the PowerPoint presentation. Insisting that she spend all of her project time managing information in Excel may not yield the best results. Instead, jointly decide what roles your project requires and who would be the best fit for them. 3. Decide on your b-school groups goal Ensure everyone is on the same page about what you wish to accomplish with this b-school group project. One classmate may hope to achieve the highest grade possible in order to maintain his GPA, while also using this opportunity to make connections in a new industry. Conversely, another classmate may hope to get the project done as quickly as possible, so that she can concentrate on recruiting season. Your group should come to a consensus on your goals for the project. Set expectations for the time, effort, and deliverables each person will contribute in order to minimize tension and confusion while you work together as a team. [RELATED: The 2 Soft Skills You Need for Business School] 4. Make a plan for executing your b-school group project As a group, answer the following questions about your project: Who is going to do what? What is the deadline for each part of the project? Where are we meeting? When are we meeting? How are we going to turn in the project? Write down the answers to all of these questions so that each person can understand what needs to get done. This doesnt necessarily mean that everything will go smoothly in completing the project. But writing down a plan of action will provide an organized framework. [RELATED: How Students Can Improve Their Research Skills] Overall, clear communication is the key to executing a successful group project in business school. First, discuss the project. Second, identify the strengths of your individual team members. Third, determine what the goal of the project is. Fourth and finally, devise a plan of action so that each person is aware of the expectations for the project. By following these four tips, you will be able to conduct your b-school group project in an effective and efficient way. Any topics you want to know more about? Let us know! Calculus Practice Problems Tutors
Calculus Practice Problems Tutors Calculus Practice Problems are the very effective means to have sound knowledge about the method of solving calculus problems. Generally calculus problem involves two important parts. One is of differential calculus and other is of integral calculus. If we will practice calculus problems then only we will have sound knowledge of the subject and hence we can able to solve complicated problems very easily. This can be understood by the given below examples:- Example 1:- Find the derivative of the x logx Solution 1:- Given function is x logx To find: - d/dx (x logx) We know that, d/dx (x logx) = x d/dx (log x) + logx d/dx(x) Therefore, d/dx (x logx) = logx. d/dx (x) + x d/dx (logx) So d/dx (x logx) = log x + x. 1/x Therefore, d/dx Sin (2x) = log x + 1 Hence d/dx Sin (2x) = log x + 1. Example 2:- Find the integration of x + 2 dx Solution 2:- Given function is x + 2 Here we have to find the integration of x + 2 Now we know that, xn.dx = xn+1/ n+1 + c, Here c is constant of integration Therefore, x + 2 dx = (x1+1/ 1+1) + 2 x + c = x2/2+2x+c So the integration of x + 2 dx = x2/2+2x+c In this example c is constant of integration. This is the example of integral calculus.
